Spelling to Communicate or S2C is an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) approach. The method trains motor skills required to indicate letters on a board. Through this technique, individuals can convey their thoughts by spelling them out letter by letter, establishing a dependable means of communication.
We support our clients in motor tasks geared towards gaining autonomy such as household chores, hygiene maintenance, and independent leisure activities. Clients receiving services from NurtureNexus have acquired skills like making their beds, washing dishes, washing and folding laundry, preparing snacks and meals, dressing themselves, brushing their teeth, showering, playing cards, doing puzzles, drawing/coloring, ect.
Regulation techniques are more individualized as each person has their preferences and ailments. We work with each client over time to find new ways to either build tolerance or make accommodations for instances of dysregulation. Clients take the lead role in discussions of becoming more regulated, their thoughts and feelings different approaches taking priority in our plan for success.
